Baramulla police in its ongoing operation against drug peddling, has registered 144 cases under NDPS Act and arrested 217 drug peddlers in the first 5 months of 2023.
A police spokesman said that 194 drug smugglers including 25 most wanted drug smugglers, have been booked under NDPS Act while 23 habitual drug peddlers have been booked under PIT- NDPS/PSA.

” Police has recovered contraband worth Crores (value of contraband in black market), he said.
The spokesman requested general public to come forward with the information of drug peddlers in their areas (identify will be kept confidential) in order to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of strong Police Public relationship.
