Rajouri, Nov 4 (KNC): In a tragic road accident, 28 passengers including many students were injured when an overloaded and overspeeding passenger overturned on the road in Rajouri district on Tuesday.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the mishap left several passengers including students with multiple injuries, while two children with critical injuries were airlifted to Jammu for advanced treatment.

The victims were initially rushed to GMC Rajouri for medical assistance, official said.

Senior officers, including Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Tejinder Singh, and SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar, visited GMC Rajouri to assess the condition of the injured and oversee necessary arrangements for their treatment.

Authorities have launched an inquiry into the cause of the accident, which preliminary reports suggest was due to overspeeding and rush driving. (KNC)
