39 Amarnath Pilgrims Injured As Yatra Bus Skids Off Road In Ganderbal

Ganderbal, July 28: In a fresh update to the earlier incident, the Amarnath Yatra bus that skidded off the road and fell near S-Mode Hariganiwan in the Kangan area of Ganderbal district has left 39 Yatris injured.

Officials told that the vehicle has been identified as bearing registration No. AR11D/5655 went off the road at the treacherous S-Mode stretch in Hariganiwan area of Gund on Tuesday, triggering a rescue operation.

A joint rescue operation was launched by troops of CRPF 118 Battalion, ITBP personnel, Army’s Kilo Force, health employees and Civil Police led by SHO Gund. The operation is currently ongoing at the site.

According to officials, 39 injured pilgrims have been referred from SDH Kangan to SKIMS for advanced treatment. 

Further details regarding the condition of the injured and the cause of the accident are awaited.
