In Awantipora, a police party intercepted an auto bearing registration number JK01BC-7644 during a routine check. Three persons on board were apprehended after approximately 50 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from the vehicle. The accused were identified as Asim Ahmad, son of Zaffar Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Batmaloo; Uzan Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Khan, a resident of Tengpora; and Farhan Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Shigar, also a resident of Batmaloo.

In Budgam, a team from Police Station Magam intercepted a suspicious auto (JK04K-4469) at Watmagam-Magam Road. The driver and another person attempted to flee but were apprehended by the police. They were identified as Firdous Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Peth Kanihama, and Naseer Ahmad Mir alias Galwan, son of Abdul Gaffar, a resident of Mazhama. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 2.14 kilograms of crushed cannabis-like substance.

In Pulwama, a police team from Police Post Newa, along with a magistrate, conducted a search at the residence of Mohd Younis Sheikh, son of Mohd Yousuf Sheikh, a resident of Newa. During the search, around 110 grams of charas powder and 850 grams of charas-like substance were recovered and seized. Two accused, including Younis Ahmad Sheikh and a woman, both residents of Newa, were apprehended.

All the accused have been arrested and shifted to the respective police stations where they remain in custody. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered, and further investigation is underway to identify and dismantle the wider network involved.

Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace under the ongoing campaign and urged the public to cooperate and share information related to drug trafficking.
