The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute’s (JKEDI) Sempora, Pampore campus. The event marked a significant occasion in the history of our nation’s freedom struggle and was graced by the presence of Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), Director, JKEDI. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Director JKEDI, followed by the soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem.

In his address, the Director JKEDI highlighted the significance of coming together to celebrate the nation’s hard-earned freedom and used the occasion to call for a renewed commitment to building a prosperous and harmonious country. He emphasized that the celebration of Independence Day should serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals during the freedom struggle and the responsibility each citizen carries in ensuring the nation’s progress. The festivities took on an even more poignant tone with the inclusion of a ceremonial salute, executed by the brave members of B Coy from the 41st Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), under the leadership of Giriraj Singh Rana, Assistant Commandant. This act not only added a solemn touch to the celebration but also served as a powerful symbol of the unity and unwavering dedication that unites our nation despite its diversity. The ceremonial salute by these valiant personnel underscored the deep-rooted commitment of individuals who put their lives on the line to ensure the security and integrity of the nation. This gesture spoke volumes about the sacrifices made by those in uniform and highlighted their integral role in maintaining the nation’s unity and strength. The fervor of Independence Day resonated throughout the various district offices of JKEDI, as each district headquarters wholeheartedly participated in the celebrations. The festivities kicked off on August 9th with the launch of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. This multifaceted initiative encompasses an array of impactful programs meticulously crafted to deepen our connection with our rich cultural heritage and instill an elevated sense of responsibility toward our nation’s progress.Among the transformative initiatives that form part of this campaign are the ‘Panch Pran Pledge,’ ‘Vasudha Vandan,’ and ‘Veeron ka Vandan.’ These endeavors stand as poignant tributes to the unflinching sacrifices made by our courageous heroes in safeguarding our nation’s values and integrity. The Institute’s premises were adorned with vibrant floral arrangements and fluttering national flags, resonating the spirit of patriotism and national pride. The celebration witnessed the presence of esteemed faculty members and officials from the Institute, all of whom shared in the collective joy and honor of the occasion.
