SRINAGAR 30 Sep : More than 13.63 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs) have been generated in Anantnag and Kulgam districts, with Kulgam recording a sharper increase in registrations during 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the Legislative Assembly.
According to a written reply of the Health and Medical Education Department, Anantnag has generated 8,70,817 ABHAs against an estimated population of 11,16,989, while Kulgam has generated 4,92,458 ABHAs against an estimated population of 5,44,824.
Anantnag generated 45,056 ABHAs in 2024 and 54,275 in 2025, an annual increase of 9,219. Kulgam, meanwhile, generated 5,465 ABHAs in 2024 and 42,399 in 2025, recording an increase of 36,934.
The figures were provided in response to an Un-Starred question by Devsar MLA Peerzada Feroze Ahmad, who had sought constituency-specific information on ABHA generation.
The Government said constituency-wise and block-wise data, including figures specifically for Devsar constituency, was not available on the National Health Authority’s ABDM Gol dashboard. It therefore furnished the figures at district level.
The department said several measures were being undertaken to increase ABHA registrations and expand digital health services across J&K. These include review meetings, coordination with district administrations and programmes such as ICDS, Higher Education, U-WIN, RCH, NCD and e-Sanjeevani, besides capacity-building, information and awareness activities, special registration drives and point-of-service ABHA creation.
It said ABHA coverage was being monitored through Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission dashboards, with dedicated efforts in Anantnag and Kulgam.
On healthcare under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the reply said 273 hospitals were empanelled in Anantnag, while Kulgam had seven empanelled hospitals, including three private and four public hospitals.
Across J&K, 88,26,534 Ayushman Cards had been generated. Of these, 6,91,564 were generated in Anantnag and 3,44,415 in Kulgam.
Beneficiaries from Kulgam had availed 96,833 treatments worth Rs 163.69 crore, while those from Anantnag had availed 1,66,319 treatments worth Rs 319.27 crore, the Government said.
