A Golden Opportunity for J&K UT Modern Pentathlon Players to Shine in the 37th National Games in Goa

Srinagar October 23 (KNS): Under the dedicated leadership of Firdous Baba, President of J&K Modern Pentathlon Association, a significant milestone has been achieved. Five exceptional players from Jammu and Kashmir are set to make their mark in the 37th National Games, scheduled from October 24 to October 29, 2023, in Goa, competing in the Modern Pentathlon discipline. This groundbreaking achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work put in by Firdous Baba, paving the way for the selection of five talented players: Aakil Ahmad Zargar, Suhaib Bashir, Basit Nabi Wani, Nusrat Ahad, and Mir Farah Noorani.
This marks the inaugural occasion where J&K UT players, nurtured by the persistent efforts of Firdous Baba, have earned their spots through the rigorous selection process organized by the National Games. Firdous Baba’s commitment to promoting sports in the region has played a pivotal role in this remarkable feat.
Sumaira Farooq, the General Secretary of J&K Modern Pentathlon Association, has affirmed that the association is fully committed to providing a suitable platform for J&K players to showcase their talents. The efforts to promote sports will extend to every nook and corner of J&K UT, with ongoing sports activities in every district, ensuring a continuous process of talent identification and development. This accomplishment stands as a testament to the dedication and vision of Firdous Baba and the entire team at J&K Modern Pentathlon Association, opening new avenues for the promising athletes of the region.(KNS)
