All around circumstances are in motion; everybody is in search of those things which will satisfy his desires. Struggle from pillar to post is going all around and dear readers the ultimate destiny is grave, where we have to face for what we have done, time spent, money spent, energy utilized, priceless faculties of our body used and answer for our disobedience. Ab Samad Najar alias Samad Sahad born out of a wedlock of two pious souls in a remote border area Pazwalpora rafiabad of Baramulla district on 4th April 1964 and left for heavenly abode on 15th January 2021 (Friday) at around 10:15 am at SKIMS Soura, Srinagar. He was brought up in a family where both his father and mother are known for their God fearing, piety, simplicity, self-restraint, sober nature and helpfulness. He was by profession a teacher and in later years of his age was serving as master at High School Hamam Rafiabad. Why am I writing about him and how I know him is a question to be answered. It was year 1991 when he visited our home and met his spiritual guide (Murshid) I-e my father Faqeer Shahbaz Dar Sahab at Pohrupeth village of district Kupwara. He was born for a cause; he was in quest of his existence as an Ashraf-ul-Makhlukaat. His firm belief and faith was on Almighty’s “Oneness” (Tawheed) and “Omnipresence” (Kulyaetil Wajood). During his stay at our home to acquaint himself with the spiritual ways of life and how to tread on that path was a golden era for him as that reshaped him from a normal human being towards a spiritual being. He has shared with me about the strength and worth of his spiritual guide (Murshid) and importantly the source of that spirituality, that is the reason he stayed there for whole of his life to achieve his ultimate end. He in his poetry has talked about it:
Before he met with his murshid, Samad Sahab was serving as a teacher in Model Public School, Khushipora, Rafiabad (a private school) and at the same time he served as an Islamic preacher at a local Masjid of Khushipora where people used to offer prayer after him. People there were fond of his simple living and high thinking about Islam. It is worth to mention here that the period which he spent at Khushipora was the beginning of his spiritual life. He there remained in touch with people and they often used to share their problems with him and took supplication in return from him. While acquainting himself of the spiritual ways from his murshid, Samad sb used to read different texts on Islam from library of my uncle and often used to discuss on certain points with him (Ghulam Mohi U Din Dar Rtd. BDO). During this course he was given responsibility to be a tutuor of we around twelve students living in one home namely Dar-Ul- Ahad. Although the tution for my other mates lasted for few years only but Alhumdulillah I remained his pupil till he left us. He used to elucidate the topics in a deep way, enlighten me with the ultimate goal of life, and guide me whenever I faced any problem. By this very teaching-learning process I came to know such a personality, so deep was his research on worldly affairs, his research on Islam particularly focused on the role played by Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and his companions to strengthen Islam and solidify themselves towards it and make their deeds best, his research on spirituality was of utmost importance. He was in quest of his own existence, in quest of poesy, rightfulness, in quest of the way that will lead him to see the glance of resplendence. The bond of relationship between Samad Sahab and his murshid was so strong and a glaring example of a pupil and teacher relationship and Alhumdulillah that relation laid the basis for his potential gnosis. Samad Sahab served in educational department as well and was appointed as teacher on 1997. He served with honesty, dedication and did justice with his job. His colleagues mourned his physical separation and recounted their fruitful experiences of life with him, they paid high tributes to him on the day of separation and most particularly the words were flowing from the mouth of his close associate Mohammad Saleem Mir Sahab from his native village Pazwalpora and others shared their experiences as well. The huge gathering of his devotees, friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbours on his funeral was a public affirmation with regard to his demeanour, condescension, high stature and mercy of Almighty Allah on him. His physical separation has left many uninhabited as he was a true guide, sympathetic, healer, mystic, friend and much more than that. His separation is considered a big loss by people but it was the wish of Almighty Allah and Samad Sahab at the last moments of his life on death bed affirmed “oneness” of Almighty and met his creator by explaining his younger brother Ghulam Ahmad Najar (Teacher) the meaning of “oneness of Almighty Allah”.
