Srinagar, August 8, 2025 – The Young Dramatists Society Srinagar
today staged its latest theatrical production, “AASH” (Kitab Rishtan Hinz), at the
Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) Srinagar as part of the
prestigious Chinar Book Festival. The performance drew an enthusiastic audience of
literature lovers, theatre enthusiasts, and cultural dignitaries from across the Valley.
The Programme Kala-e-Kashmir is organizing by Ministry of Education , Govt. of
India.

The play, “AASH”, (Kitab Rishtan Hinz), meaning Hope the book of relations
with mother , delves into the emotional and intellectual bonds created through books
and literature, portraying how written words weave relationships that transcend time
and space. With its rich script, engaging dialogues, and authentic performances, the
production offered a poignant reflection on the transformative power of reading in
connecting generations and communities.
Directed and performed by the talented members of the Young
Dramatists Society, the play blended modern theatrical techniques with
Kashmiri cultural sensibilities, resonating deeply with the festival’s theme of
celebrating literature as a bridge between hearts and minds.
Speaking on the occasion, the Society’s representatives expressed gratitude to
the Chinar Book Festival organisers for providing a platform to highlight theatre as a
vital component of cultural dialogue. They emphasised the need for more such
collaborations that merge performing arts with literary celebrations.
The event concluded with a warm round of applause, with many in the
audience praising the performance for its originality, emotional depth, and strong
cultural identity.
