National Conference working president Omar Abdullah on Saturday said an unprecedented acute crisis in the delivery of basic governance was affecting day-to-day life across the State.
Addressing the party’s monthly Provincial Committee meeting at party headquarters ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar in which senior leaders, legislators, district presidents and office bearers of the party participated, Omar said the unprecedented and acute power crisis coupled with the Government’s apathy had crippled day-to-day life.
He also expressed disappointment at the ongoing ration and essential supplies crisis that has engulfed the Valley for the past few months. “A ration crisis in winter is unacceptable and highly condemnable. Mismanagement and apathy is at the root of this issue and the administration has failed to address the ration crisis ever since the implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the State. The long, harsh winters makes this callous and arrogant behaviour of the Government tragic”, Omar said.
Omar also reviewed various party initiatives and outreach programs of the party in all the districts of the Valley and sought details in inputs from the district presidents.
