ADGP Vijay Kumar reviews L&O situation & election preparedness for General Parliamentary Elections

ADGP Law & Order/SPNO J&K along with ADGP Jammu Zone, Div Comn Jammu, CAPFs nodal officer IG CRPF visited Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban district headquarters and reviewed L&O situation and Election Preparedness for General Parliamentary Elections 2024 on Sunday

“The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law & Order J&K, Vijay Kumar, IPS along with the ADGP Jammu Zone, Jammu Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, IAS ,IG CRPF, CAPFs nodal officer, DIG CRPF Jammu, Deputy Commissioners Kishtwar/Doda/Ramban , SSP Kishtwar/Doda/Ramban and COs RR and CRPF conducted a comprehensive review of the security preparedness in connection with the upcoming General Parliamentary Elections 2024 in District Kishtwar.

The meetings were aimed to ensure robust security arrangements to facilitate the smooth conduct of the electoral process and to maintain peace and order during this critical period of democratic exercise.

During the review, the ADGP Law & Order J&K emphasized the significance of maintaining a high state of vigilance and readiness to address any potential security challenges. He underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination among all law enforcement agencies, including police, paramilitary forces, and other stakeholders, to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

He reiterated the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to uphold the democratic principles and provide a secure environment for voters, candidates, and election officials.

He emphasized the need for proactive measures to identify and neutralize any threats to the electoral process promptly. Additionally, the senior officers discussed the deployment of security personnel, the establishment of checkpoints, and the intensification of patrolling in sensitive areas to pre-empt any untoward incidents. They also reviewed L&O contingency plans and emergency response mechanisms to ensure swift and effective action in case of any security-related exigencies.

The senior officers thereafter inspected the strong rooms earmarked for storing EVMs and reviewed their security. They also visited camping locations of incoming troops and reviewed the availability of basic amenities at such locations.Furthermore, the meeting stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination with all stakeholders to address any logistical or operational challenges effectively.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and impartiality in ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections in District Kishtwar.
