Advisor to Lt Governor, K K Sharma has extended greetings to people on the Eve of Baisakhi.
In a message of felicitations, the Advisor said that the day marks the beginning of the New Year in Indian Calendar, having great importance to the people of Northern India, particularly for the Sikh community as the Khalsa Panth came to existence on this day.
“The festival also marks the commencement of the harvesting season in the north india”, the advisor maintained. He said that the celebration of this festival is a living example of our pluralistic traditions and mutual brotherhood.
The Advisor also appealed the people to adhere to the protocols put in view of the Global pandemic of the COVID 19 especially the concept of Social distancing.
He also prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
