Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, KK Sharma, today released ‘Trending Careers’ a book containing counseling and guidance for students of 9th to 12th classes to lead them for suitable career streams.While speaking on the occasion, Advisor said that this informative and career counseling book will provide necessary inputs and guidance to students enabling them choose their career in tune with their skill and academic abilities.
“The book has been thoroughly enriched with extensive research and deep field specific experiences of about 40 years of three reputed authors”, he asserted.He said that ‘Trending Careers’ also contains stuff for parents and teachers to help them give right direction to students. The book is a one-stop guide and covers mainly the following areas like method to introspect oneself when in 9th class, recognize own strengths and weaknesses, decide on careers out of the 110 traditional and trending careers and related issues, he added.
Besides, it also tells about the technique for selection of right subjects in 11th class besides dealing with the methods of cracking national level entrance tests for engineering, medical, chartered accountancy, law etc. in 110 streams in best colleges in the country and abroad as well, he informed.
It also offers information about Government scholarships available during college period and vocational courses under the new National Skill Qualification Framework.Pertinently, the lead author of the book is Deepti Sharma, who is an expert career counselor certified by the University of California, Los Angles, USA, the second author, Aarti Sharma, has experience of teaching in 12 states of the country following the state board, CBSE, ICSE and IB syllabi in their schools while third author is Maj Gen Shiv Kumar Sharma, AVSM (Retd), Director Academics, Model Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jammu who is also a recipient of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal from President of India and has been Principal/Director of Engineering/MBA colleges in the country for around 15 years.
