Srinagar, Mar 10 : Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, a Member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, visited the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi, where he was briefed on the government’s preparedness regarding the safety and evacuation of Indian nationals currently in Iran, including several residents from Jammu & Kashmir.

During the meeting, officials from the Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran Division of the MEA, led by the Joint Secretary, informed Aga Muntazir that the government is fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals in Iran.

According to the briefing, Indian nationals may be evacuated via a coordinated route through Armenia and Moscow before being brought to Delhi.

The MEA assured Aga Muntazir that the Government of India, along with its embassies, is closely monitoring the situation and remains fully committed to ensuring the safe return of every Indian citizen.

Officials also requested Aga Muntazir to advise Indian nationals currently in Iran not to upload videos or sensitive information on social media, as such posts could increase their vulnerability and complicate rescue efforts.

Aga Muntazir appreciated the proactive measures taken by the Government of India and expressed hope that all Indians, including those from Jammu & Kashmir, will be safely brought back home if the situation requires evacuation. (KNS)
