Srinagar, Dec 23: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi on Monday voiced grave concern over the safety of Kashmiri students, studying in Bangladesh and demanded their immediate return without any further delay in view of the prevailing uncertainty and unrest there.
Inam Un Nabi said that thousands of students from Kashmir are enrolled in institutions in Bangladesh purely to pursue higher education, especially in the medical field. He said the worsening situation, reports of instability, restrictions on movement and a growing sense of fear among students have caused deep anxiety among families back home.
“The safety and well-being of our students cannot be compromised. They should not be left stranded in an uncertain and volatile situation far away from home,” he said, adding that waiting for the situation to worsen would be irresponsible.
The AIP Chief Spokesperson urged the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs to act immediately and put in place concrete arrangements for the safe return of Kashmiri students, instead of issuing routine advisories. He stressed that constant communication with students and their families is essential during this critical period.
