Srinagar, October 11 : Jailed Hurriyat leader Altaf Ahmad Shah passed away in a Delhi hospital today after he was diagnosed with late stage renal cancer that had spread to other parts of his body, his family said.
His daughter Ruwa Shah broke the news on twitter on Tuesday early morning.
“Abu (father) breathed his last at AIIMS, New Delhi. As a prisoner,” she tweeted about his death at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
Shah was the Son-in-law of late Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and was lodged in Tihar Jail with other Huryat leaders since 2018 after their arrest   in an alleged terror funding case.
