SRINAGAR 14 Jul : The 13th batch of 5,335 pilgrims undertaking the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu during the early hours of Tuesday under multi-layer security arrangements, taking the total number of devotees who have departed for the Kashmir Valley to 93,036.

According to the Joint Police Control Room (JPCR), the pilgrims travelled in a convoy of 232 vehicles escorted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other security agencies.

Of the total pilgrims, 1,736 were headed for the Baltal base camp, while 3,599 proceeded towards the Pahalgam route. The Baltal-bound convoy comprising 99 vehicles departed at 2:42 a.m., while the Pahalgam-bound convoy of 133 vehicles left at 3:10 a.m.

The batch comprised 3,911 male pilgrims, 1,288 female pilgrims, 21 children, 90 sadhus, 24 sadhvis and one transgender pilgrim.

The convoy included 138 buses, 36 medium motor vehicles (MMVs), 57 light motor vehicles (LMVs) and one two-wheeler.

Officials said elaborate security arrangements have been put in place along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, including key transit points at Chanderkote, Ramban and Banihal, to ensure the safe and smooth movement of the Yatra convoys.
