Ganderbal, Apr 8 : A shocking case of negligence has come to light on the Ganderbal–Soura route, where even a government-run vehicle of the Srinagar Smart City Bus failed to give way to an ambulance despite continuous sirens.
Eyewitnesses reported as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, that the ambulance, carrying a critical patient, struggled to pass through traffic as vehicles refused to clear the way. Such irresponsible behavior not only violates traffic norms but also puts lives at serious risk by delaying urgent medical care.
The incident has raised serious concerns over accountability, especially when public service vehicles themselves fail to set an example.
Residents expressed anger over the growing trend of careless driving on this vital route, which connects key areas and witnesses heavy traffic daily.
Similar instances have been reported on the Kangan–Soura stretch, where drivers repeatedly ignore ambulance sirens. Despite awareness campaigns and strict traffic laws, many motorists continue to show a lack of civic responsibility, endangering lives in emergency situations.
