Thousands of people pay rich tributes to Dr Hajini’
Srinagar Sept 15: A joint condolence meeting was held in the memory of Dr Aziz Hajini by Adbi Markaz Kamraz and Halqa-e-Adab Sonawari at his residence at Padshahi Bagh in Srinagar on Wednesday.
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that thousands of people attended the ceremony to pay rich tributes to Late Dr Hajini.
“Towering personalities from cross sections of the Kashmir society prayed with moist eyes for the deceased and condoled with two sons of the deceased.”
It reads that the meeting was attended by hundreds and thousands of intellectuals, writers , social activists, artists and journalists. “On this occasion, the elder son of late Dr Hajini, Azhar Hajini was also honoured and encouraged to take forward his father’s mission. The ceremony was thrown open with the recitation of the verses of Holy Quran followed by the presentation of a popular Naat by Waheed Jeelani which was written by Dr Hajini himself. It was the most emotional moment in the entire ceremony which left the people in moist eyes.”
It read that the notable personalities who threw extensive light on the life and achievements of late Dr Hajini were Shiekh ul Hadith Qazi Mohammad Imran, Former Legislatures Haq Khan, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Alhaj Gh Nabi Dar, Abdul Ahad Hajini, Prof Abdul Hameed Nayeemi, Prof Manzoor Ahmed Rather, Prof Mohammad Zaman Aazurda, G N Atish, Prof Dr Showqat Shifa, Aijaz Ahmed Kakroo, Prof Shaad Ramzan, Mohammad Rafi, Mohammad Ayoub Shah,Mushtaq Ali Ahmed Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed Mushtaq, Shabeer Hussain Shabeer, Dr Iftikhar Ahmed, Nasir Zameer, Farooq Rafiabadi, Mohiuddin Poshpori, Ashfaq Lone, Zafar Iqbal Manhas, Aftab Singh Manhas, Akhtar Hussain, Kishan Langoo, Raja Bilal, Sagar Sarfaraz, Sagar Nazeer, Reyaz Masroor, Tahir Mohid ud Din, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Rafeeq Masoodi, Farooq Ganaie, Dr Gulzar Ahmed, Tariq Javeed, Fayaz Tilgami, G N Aatish, Arvind Shah Ayoub Sabir, Riyaz Parwana and the council members of AMK and Halqa e Adab Sonawai, Hajin.
“Many literary personalities from other parts of the country and abroad sent their condolence messages through SMS, Voice mail and WhatsApp.”
Mohammad Amin Bhat president AMK presented concluding address while Shiekh Ghulam Mohammad VP HAS presented vote of thanks. The proceedings of the function were conducted by Shakir Shafi, Dr Riyaz Ul Hassan and Farooq Shaheen.
