AMK paid rich tributes paid to poet Scholar Safie Sopori

Adbee  Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir(MKJK) on Sunday  paid rich tributes to a poet, scholar and  educationist Safie Sopori  during a daylong condolence meet organised at his residence in Sopore are of North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.

Sopori  (95)  passed away on Thursday   evening after a brief illness.

  The condolence meet organised by Adbee  Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir(JK) on Safi Sopori’s Charum  was  conducted at Alnoor Colony Sopore where galaxy of scholars,intellectual ,poets and politicians  participated and paid tributes to the departed soul.

While paying homage to the Safie Sopori speakers during the event said that the he was a scholar, poet and educationist   who honestly served the society as a teacher and administrator.

President Adbi Markaz Kamraz JK  Dr Sayed Shujaat Bukhairi  while paying tributes to the departed soul said that Safi Sopori was a among few scholars and poets who caught hold of the tradition of their ancestors.

“the scholars like Safi Sopori is always an exception,  his death is loss to not only to his family but for AMK and the society in general” Bukhari said.

He said that AMK will work for the exploration of Safie’s thought and ideas in the future and will make the future generation aware about the contribution of stalwarts like Safi Sopori.

     Lauding the contribution of Safi Sopori, speakers said he gave a new direction to Urdu literature in Kashmir.

While giving advice to upcoming writers, Speakers said they should through Safi’s writings which are symbol of traditional scholasticism.

   Among the prominent  personalities  who spoke on the  occasion include   General Secretary AMK Muhammad Amin Bhat, Prof Zaman Azrudah,Prof Mashal Sultanpuri, Ajez Ahmed Kakroo,Prof Muhmmad Yousuf Sofi,Nazir Shahbaz,Minster Sayed Bashrat Bukhairi,Former MP Sharifudin Shariq.’

The proceedings of the event were carried by Secretary AMK Mir Tariq Rassool while Dr  Rafique Masoodi proposed vote of thanks. Earlier Nazir Masoodi opened the session by reciting Quranic verses.

Among the others who participated in the condolence meet include Naeem Akther Andrabi,Ashiq Bukhari,Shabir Ahmed Shabir,Manzsoor Muntazir,Abdul Ahad Hajini,Majeed  Majazi,Adil Ismail, Among the others who were present on the occasion include  Mir Tariq, Mansur Ahmad Muntazir,Muhmad Yousuf Mashoor,Shakir shafi,Shabnum Gulzar,Majeed Majazi,Nisar Azim,Hassan Aznar,Farooq Rafiabdi,Yousf SameemPrince Parvaiz Chairman Wular Valley College BAndipora, representatives of J&K Saqafti Markaz Budgam, Maraz Adbi Sangam,Kreuhn Cultural Forum(Mohd Yusuf Sameem),Maraz Adbi Sangam,Ahad Zargar Memorial Trust,Gulshan Cultural Forum,Dilshad Cultural Forum,Rafiabad Civil Society,Literary Forum Bandipora, Kashmir Concern Foundation and all the representatives from affiliated units of  AMK.
