A renowned author of international fame asked me to describe Kashmir’s tumultuous history in one sentence. In response to that I described it acronymically as fallows:
K×SRS= (P) A5+MHPS=(F) A+UT
This formula is decoded as under:
K stands for Kashmir. SRS signify that Kashmir was Sold and Resold multiple times for peanuts. P in brackets is for peckish, peevish, and phony which terms/words are to be sequentially inserted/adjusted before five A’s that read as:
The Alien Rule that began in 1586, the Amritsar Treaty (commonly known as Bainama Amritsar) that led to the founding of JK State in 1846, the Autocratic regime 1846-1947, and the Kashmiri Assertion of 1931 for Azadi from poverty and ignorance. MHPS indicate that the Movement was hijacked by number one Political Seller of Kashmir. F in brackets indicates fake, failed and final which are to be read before “Accession” (that eventually resulted from the Seller’s untiring efforts), Autonomy, and Abrogation of Article 370 and 35A that happened on 5August 2019 when JK State was divided into two parts and demoted and downgraded to the position of a Union Territory. The most deplorable and dangerous phenomenon that beseiges Kashmir owing to all the aforementioned developments has made Kashmiris suffer from an unforgetable and unending mayhem. The socio-political decadence the Valley has been going through since 26 October 1947 has given to Kashmir an irredeemable geographical, emotional, cultural and political scars and fractures that have consumed an indeterminable number of its people so far. And how many more are yet to be killed, maimed, and slaughtered only God knows.
