District Police Anantnag has once again shown its commitment to eradicate the drug menace by apprehending a drug peddler. On specific information DO Janglat Mandi established a naka at Barkpora Anantnag and apprehended a person namely Rayees Ahmad Ganie S/O Ghulam Rasool Ganie resident of Brakpora and recovered 15 bottles of welcyrex (codein phosphate) from his possession.

In this regard case FIR No. 95 /2021 under relevant sections of the law stands registered in Police Station Anantnag and investigation set into motion.
Anantnag Police commitment to make Anantnag a drugs free district. Anantnag Police assured that such operations will continue in future with same vigour and zeal and drug peddlers will be dealt with heavy hand.
