Anantnag, Nov 14 : Anantnag Police on Friday carried out a comprehensive physical verification drive across the district, focusing on vehicles and the records maintained by various car dealers.

During the exercise, police teams physically inspected vehicles present at dealerships and scrutinised documentation related to the sale, purchase, and transfer of ownership.
Special emphasis was placed on verifying the authenticity of transaction records, ensuring timely transfer of ownership, and identifying any discrepancies that might lead to unlawful use.
Car dealers have been advised to maintain complete, accurate, and updated records of all vehicle transactions, and to strictly adhere to statutory norms.
Police teams also sensitised dealers regarding the importance of meticulous record maintenance in strengthening overall security mechanisms within the district.
