Srinagar, May 20: Continuing its drive against illicit cultivation of narcotic crops, Anantnag Police carried out the destruction of illegally grown poppy at village Batagund, Verinag.

The action was undertaken by Police Post Verinag in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.

The illegally cultivated crop was destroyed on the spot as per procedure. In this connection, Case FIR No. 76/2026 under sections 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dooru and investigation has been taken up.
