ANC welcomes Omar’s release

Srinagar, Mar 24 2020

Awami National Conference (ANC) on Tuesday welcomed the release of former CM Omar Abdullah and said government has started to abide Supreme Court’ directives.

ANC President Begum Khalida Shah and senior vice-president Muzaffar Ahmad Shah welcomed the government’s decision of releasing former chief minister of J&K Omar Abdullah.

They said government has started to abide the directions given by supreme Court who snubbed J&K authorities over continous detention of political leaders without any charge.

They urged upon the authorities to release all detainees lodged in and outside J&K jails especially PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti who is under detention since August 5, 2019.

ANC leaders further stated that amid COVID-19 scare, government should ensure the return of students to valley who are stuck in different parts of country.
