Anganwadi workers on tuesday staged a protest in Ganderbal district demanding regularization of their services, payment of honorarium on monthly basis and disbursement of their pending wages.
Having assembled under the banner of Aanganwadi Workers and Helpers Union, scores of Anganwadi workers assembled staged a protest in Ganderbal. Raising slogans in demand of payment of their honorarium regularly at the month end, they said that their wages are pending since last several months, with the result they are faced with tremendous financial difficulties.
“Is this the reward to us for being deployed to toughest kind of duties,” said one of the protesting workers.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter and release our wages and issue orders of regularisation in our favour.
