Srinagar, March 19: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has announced that, in view of the inclement weather conditions, the Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayers will be offered at the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar at 10:00 AM, InshaAllah.

The Anjuman informed that the Eid sermon (خطبة عید) will be delivered by Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq at 9:00 AM. People are requested to reach Jama Masjid early to benefit from the sermon and participate in the collective prayers.

The Auqaf expressed hope that the authorities will not create any interference or obstacles and will facilitate the smooth conduct of Eid prayers, respecting the religious sentiments and rights of the people. It strongly urged that no attempt should be made to disallow the prayers, as witnessed on Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida, which caused widespread resentment and hurt among the people, and expressed hope that such actions will not be repeated on this sacred occasion.

Meanwhile, the Anjuman Auqaf also clarified that the amount of Zakat-ul-Fitr has been fixed at ₹80 per person this year, which must be paid before the Eid prayer, as required in Shariah.
