Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, ANTF Kashmir attained a major success by seizing over 08 Kgs of contraband substance at Palpora Srinagar and arrested one drug peddler.
A Police spokesperson said, ANTF Kashmir received a specific information through reliable source to the effect that one drug peddler namely Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh son of Abdul Ahad Sheik resident of Vicharnag Nowshera Srinagar carrying Charas powder to sell the same substance among other drug peddlers at Palpora Srinagar. Acting upon the information, ANTF Kashmir established a Naka at Palpora Srinagar and arrested the said drug peddler. During search, 8.33Kgs of Charas Powder like substance concealed in a Nylon gunny bag was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 01/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at P/S ANTF Kashmir and further investigation in forward/backward linkage is going on.
This achievement reflects the commitment of ANTF Kashmir to combating narcotics trafficking and ensuring the safety of the community. The police remain committed to taking strict legal action under the NDPS Act against offenders and their assets.
