Anti-Radicalisation, Anti-Drug Awareness Drive Held in Tral Under ‘Right Path Programme’

Tral, Apr 18 : A one-hour interactive awareness session under the ‘Right Path Programme’ was conducted in Tral area of Pulwama on Saturday, focusing on addressing the twin challenges of radicalisation and drug abuse among youth, with active participation from local residents, community members and young participants.

The Right Path Programme Awareness Session was held in Pulwama Tral, Under The Right Path Programme, a one-hour interactive awareness session was successfully conducted today in Pulwama.

In an effort to address rising concerns over radicalisation and drug abuse among youth, a youth-centric awareness session under the ‘Right Path Programme’ was organised in Tral area of Pulwama, bringing together community members, local youth and stakeholders to promote awareness, prevention and collective responsibility towards safeguarding future generations.

During the interactive discussion, the speakers addressed the growing concern of radicalisation, describing it as a serious societal challenge and a grave threat to the future of young generations. They emphasized that preventing radicalisation is not solely the responsibility of institutions or law enforcement agencies, but a collective duty that requires active involvement from families, educators, community leaders, and
society at large.

The speakers highlighted that radicalisation has evolved into a deep-rooted social menace that negatively influences young minds and fosters distorted ideologies among children and adolescents. They stressed that it is both a moral obligation and a fundamental responsibility to guide youth towards constructive and positive pathways by ensuring access to proper guidance, quality education, skill development, and meaningful opportunities for a dignified life.
Participants warmly welcomed the initiative and appreciated the proactive efforts of the organizers. Community members expressed the need for more such grassroots-level awareness programmes to safeguard the younger generation and strengthen social harmony.

Another speaker drew attention to the alarming rise in drug abuse alongside radicalisation, stating that both issues pose significant risks to youth development. He emphasized the importance of community vigilance, awareness, and preventive engagement to protect young individuals from falling prey to harmful influences.

On this occasion, representatives of the organizing team assured participants and village elders that additional workshops and awareness initiatives focusing on youth empowerment, social awareness, and prevention strategies will be organized in the coming days under The Right Path Programme.

The session concluded with a collective pledge by participants, community leaders, and organizers to work together for the protection, guidance, and empowerment of youth, reaffirming their shared commitment to building a peaceful, progressive, and resilient society. (KNC)
