An Army soldier who was early critically injured in an ongoing gunfight at zaloora area of North Kashmir’s Sopore succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

A top police officer told GNS that one army soldier succumbed to his injuries after he recieved critical bullet wound early today during firefight at encounter site.

So far there is no reports of any militant killed in the ongoing operation at Gujarpeti area of zaloora, he added.

Yesterday, a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving specific input about presence of some militants.

As the joint team of forces zeroed towards the hideout, the hiding militants fired on the joint team, which was retaliated triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)
