ANC President Begum Khalida Shah and Vice-President Muzaffar Shah welcomed the decision of authorities who revoked detention order of former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah.

“Dr Farooq’s release is a welcome step but simultaneously government should release all political leaders who had been taken into custody since August 2019”, ANC leaders in a statement said.

“If government is willing to make soil of J&K conducive for political exercises, then it is indispensable for authorities to release all caged leaders who are still languishing in jails and sub-jails”, statement further said.

Soon after the release of Dr farooq Abdullah ANC president Begum Khalida Shah and senior vice president Muzzafer Shah visited the house of former chief minister and congratulated him on his release.
