Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday disowned statements being circulated in the party’s name, asserting that no one is authorised to speak on behalf of the organisation at present.
Azad said that all previous party posts and positions, including spokespersons and office bearers, stand dissolved. “DPAP has no spokesperson, nor have we authorised anyone to speak on the party’s behalf. If any person issues a statement claiming to represent DPAP, it should not be attributed to the organisation,” he clarified.
He added that while party leaders may comment on general public issues after consulting him, no individual has the authority to issue political or organisational statements until new office bearers are formally appointed.
The statement comes amid unauthorised remarks circulating in the media, which Azad described as “misleading and not reflective of the party’s official position.”
