Bandipora-Gurez road closed, Razdan Pass receives 1ft snow

Bandipora, October 20: Gurez valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday morning received the seasonal first snowfall.
An official told that the upper reaches of Gurez Valley including  Tulail area received snowfall today morning while the plains of Gurez also received light snowfall and rains.
Razdan Pass, which is the gate way to Gurez mountainous valley has also received at least 12inches of snowfall  late last night and Tragbal received 6 inches of snow , officials said.
The 84km Bandipora-Gurez road was already closed by the authorities for all sorts of traffic movement in view of weather advisory.
OC  BRO Col Abhishek confirmed to KNS  closure of  Bandipora- Gurez road and said snow clearance machines have been pressed into service to clear the road.
