New Delhi 23 Sep : All Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks will remain open and function normally on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in view of the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.
The strike has been called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) and comes after the weekend holidays on September 26 and 27.
The move has been taken to ensure that banking services remain available to customers and that their genuine banking needs are not affected over an extended period.
The Reserve Bank of India has approved the opening of all bank branches, offices, ATM-link branches and Currency Chests on September 27.
The government and bank managements have appealed to the unions to defer the proposed strike and said measures have been taken to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential banking services.
The Department said the welfare and convenience of bank customers remains a priority.
