“We will resume court work from tomorrow. The decision to resume work was taken during a general body meeting of JKHCBA today,” Advocate Muhammad Abdullah Pandit, senior executive member of JKHCBA, told Greater Kashmir.

He informed that Qayoom reached Srinagar court around 10am. “He (Qayoom) has been asked to appear again before NIA on September 14, this year,” he added.

Lawyers across Kashmir valley on Friday suspended the court work for the consecutive fifth day today to protest against a notice issued to President JKHCBA Advocate Mian Qayoom by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

A day before, Bar Association Srinagar wrote an open letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI), explaining the reasons behind strike called over the summoning of Bar President Advocate Mian Qayoom.
