Baramulla police arrests drug peddler; Contraband substance recovered

Srinagar, December 22 : Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Baramulla have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Today at about 1500hrs, while routine checking of vehicles at Uri Sumo stand an individual identified as Amir Aftab son of Aftab Ahmad Magral resident of Sultan Daki was seen roaming in a suspicious way. He was intercepted and arrested when he tried to flee from the spot. During search officers were able to recover Heroin like substance concealed in a packet from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 176/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Uri and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
