Basit appreciates Cultural event organised by Srinagar Police at KU

A vibrant Cultural Programme under the ‘Civil Action Programme’ ventures of District police Srinagar-Zone Hazratbal was organised today at University of Kashmir in association with the Department of Students Welfare, University of Kashmir. The event was marked by the notable presence of numerous Senior Police Officials, talented artists, keen students of University of Kashmir and other Institutes, along with citizens of Srinagar. Professor Nilofar Khan, VC University of Kashmir graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Praising the efforts of Srinagar Police Basit Hayat Zargar said “I congratulate Sh. Rakesh Balwal IPS, SSP Srinagar and SP Hazratbal Sh. Mashkoor Zargar JKPS on organising a wonderful Cultural Programme in University of Kashmir today. Srinagar police is doing appreciable work in the city especially with regards to Community-Policing ventures and Civic Action Programme, under the guidance of Sh. Rakesh Balwal IPS, SSP Srinagar”. He added, “For peace and harmony in the society it is necessary that the Police and citizens, especially youth work together. Various endeavours and ventures undertaken by the Police under Civil Action Programmes are a great step in the direction of Police-Public Co-operation.”
‘Civic Action Programme’ not only enables effective communication between the people and police but also act as a hurdle-remover in any conflicting situation, by establishing good police-public relations. As per Jammu and Kashmir Police, winning the hearts & minds is the basic essence of works undertaken during Civic Action. Ideally, CAP should act on factors which affect the youth, people below the poverty line, unemployed population and Community as a whole. Basit Hayat Zargar said that the efforts of Srinagar Police to bring the youth, community at large and police together under the umbrella of shared culture are significant.
The programme witnessed the exhilarating performances of different artists, felicitation of the hardworking participants, motivating speech of SP Hazratbal outlining the aim of Cultural Programme and note of appreciation by the Chief Guest of the event Professor Nilofar Khan, VC University of Kashmir. She lauded the efforts of Srinagar Police in providing the platform for youth to showcase their talent and encouraged the youth to work together with police in organizing other such programmes based on social issues in future.
Commenting on the youth-police cooperation, Basit Hayat Zargar said, “Such programmes are instrumental in developing youth-police cooperation which ultimately benefit the society at large. As stated by the Chief Guest in the said event, youth must learn Discipline from the Srinagar police and work towards a better society. I’m optimistic about the significance and impact of Civil Action Programme undertaken by the Srinagar Police, on the youth and society in general.”
