The purpose of removing section 370 was to snatch the rights and employment of Kashmiries: Mehbooba Mufti
Former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said that the BJP government violated the Indian Constitution by repealing Section 370 as it was the Indian Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Mehbooba Mufti during a press conference in Jammu said that the situation in Kashmir is bad but the situation in Jammu is much worse than what is being described. She claimed that all the promises and claims made during the removal of 370 turned out to be mirages. He said that the BJP government had violated the constitution drafted by Dr. Baba Sahib Ambedkar.
She mentioned that Baba Sahib had drafted the constitution on the basis of justice and fairness but the BJP did not abide by it. The sole purpose of the removal was to snatch away the rights and employment opportunities of the people here.
Baba Sahib Ambedkar’s constitution was violated. She said that the natural resources of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the rights of excavating Gravel and stone, were snatched from the ordinary Kashmiries. Labourers are being brought here for extraction and sand and Gravel is being sent to other states due to which many people here have become unemployed.
She said that the flag of Jammu and Kashmir did not come down from any sky but that flag was given by India and it was snatched by BJP. Regarding Kashmir Migrant Pandits, She said that BJP did not even think about Kashmiri Pandits. Kashmiri Pandits have been waiting for a long time for the BJP government to come and take them back to their homeland, but it is still impossible for them to survive.
She said that the BJP has created such an atmosphere in Kashmir that Young people there understand that it is better to take the path of militancy than to go to jail. She said that Article 370 does not belong to Muslims or Hindus. This was to protect the identity of Jammu and Kashmir. People are now worried about their future. “The BJP has not only repealed Article 370 but also erased the glory of Baba Sahib Ambedkar” She claimed.
