BJP’s Kashmir Media In-charge and leader Manzoor Bhat Friday slammed the administration for failing to provide proper security to their political workers and stated that there are still some NC and PDP sympathisers who are delaying the process.
Bhat said recent security lapses are taking place because of a lack of proper security and accommodation arrangements to their grass root workers.
“Some people in the administration are still friends and sympathizers of NC and PDP and paying a crucial role in delaying security cover to our party workers. They do not wish that BJP should grow in Kashmir,” he said.
“These people desire that BJP should wind up their activities on the ground as they cannot tolerate the popularity of the party in the valley,”
Bhat termed it unfortunate that their innocent party workers are being targeted in such cowardly acts by militants. Despite repeated pleas to administration to provide security cover to their workers nothing was done on the ground. There should be probe into it, he said.
As per Bhat in Jammu and Kashmir anti-national activities political parties are being provided Z-security while as BJP workers who are holding Indian flag on their hands are being neglected and sidelined.
“Even top leaders of BJP are still without security cover and accommodation. Till date party command has approached several times to administration for providing accommodation and security but deaf ears were paid to our pleas,” he said.
Bhat urged LG lead administration that they should identify these people and investigate their roles in such cases. They should review the security of the party leaders as compared to NC and PDP leaders and workers, he said.
He also welcomed the statement of Advisor to Lieutenant Governor R R Bhatnagar that the security of political workers was a top priority of the government but are ascertaining the facts what led to the killing of three BJP workers.
“There should be a proper probe into the killings of our party men and police should investigate the whole process,” Bhat said.
