Visits Indira Nagar Temple, seeks action against those who encroached road leading to religious place,

Bharatiya Janata Party’s General Secretary and Kashmir affairs Incharge, Vibodh Gupta on Wednesday urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to renovate the temples in Kashmir to keep the culture Jammu and Kashmir alive.

Gupta as per the news agency— visited a temple today at Indira Nagar where the Kashmiri Pandit community informed him that the way leading to the temple has been encroached by the people.

The BJP leader further contacted the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, who rushed to the spot along with the team of officials, a BJP leader told, adding that the DC later directed the concerned officials to investigate the matter.

Gupta, who was accompanied by BJYM General Secretary Bilal Parray and Kashmiri Pandit leader Veena Pandita, later appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to constitute a committee to identify the temples, which need to be renovated.

“Kashmiriyat is famous across the globe and J&K is heading towards Kashmiriyat again. A committee must be formed to identify the temples which need to be renovated to keep the Kashmir culture alive,” Gupta said—(KNO)
