The rising tide of innovative technique adds fuel to fire. Rise of new incidences in strife torn Kashmir is not new. The newspapers remain full to their capacity regarding atmosphere of protests and CASO strategies to corner the insecurity elements. As far as the climate of living in Kashmir is concerned, the fear makes an inseparable arm. Right from its inception as hotbed issue between declared nuclear powers India and Pakistan, Kashmir witnessed the continuous tide of rising fear and insecurity for livable atmosphere . This was most often endorsed by the reports of UNHCR which brings such violations to fore at intermittent periods. The atmosphere of violence and bloodshed is not new to valley, but what comes to surprise for residents is the New and Innovative techniques applied to create that atmosphere. The message of 2016 is still ripe with induction of plate guns and PAVA CHILI methods and of course thorough use of Social networking by secessionist tendencies, present year came with on slaught for terrorism. What now …..HAIR CHOPPING?
“IST CASE OF HAIR CHOPPING IN SHOPIAN ” read the news. Like others it came to my surprise as the wave has knocked my door with initiation in my district. I listened to 16 year old girl interview from Kulgam to be precise wailing not this time for dead body of his brother or other relative, the order of the day in Kashmir but being caught unawares to get her hair chopped off. More deeper her morale chopped by someone who is unknown to everybody. This time the hospitals witness something strange with increase in such incidences, the mothers wailing for the security of her daughters who themselves in deep psychosis and are hell bent to culminate there studies as well at some instances. Who waved off the indication of peace and sleep of women? Whenever valley witnessed the bleak periods it heavily acted upon this vulnerable section leaving them in lurch. Be it Kunanposhpora, unknown cremation grounds , AFSPA, Militancy , CASO and whatsoever, they remained at centre of controversy bearing the whole brunt in the end. For other episodes it invaded there sphere indirectly like earned hand siphoned away and beloved son left say for the time being. The 2016 came with yet another surprise; paradise valley became blind valley thanks to plate guns. This time it directly came with CASO like strategy for their MORALE. ……hair chopping. The irony of the fact is that the momentum the wave gained looks unending and seems to have left us in a state of despair and helplessness. In view of contemporary realization for women’s empowerment as sidekick of policy oriented towards welfare of human beings, the incidences of hair chopping is slap on face of humanity. The rising flare of hair chopping incidences in last some days and it’s continuous momentum along length and breadth of Kashmir adds one more black spot on face of Kashmir. “Truce period” I say after 2016 uprising couldn’t digest the bloodshed of said year , the hair chopping caught attention of corridors of valley with each passing day. The rising tide of innovative technique adds fuel to fire. By far the south Kashmir came under this sturdy wave but no region is separable the Kashmir as a whole is in a state of deep psychosis. Over and above its repercussions on overall security of valley, the target of wave being vulnerable section ….women of society is to be rejected in Toto. Women’s freedom once again got cornered in violence ridden region though this time not with conservative ideology. Are women’s safe in Kashmir? Do we aspire hair chopping or world iconic models for this section? The MNS of questions are discussed in length and breadth of Kashmir, but await answer.
On analytical level the environment of Kashmir remains busy in sturdy incidences by each passing day. It seems there’s no end to such tactics this time hair chopping. Who are they? Why they do this? Who offers them help? These are the questions which I on behalf of every kashmiri might ask from government of the day if time comes my way. But one thing is clear the Kashmir is entangled in deep crisis with active involvement of some hidden agencies which induces such tactics to tear the indication of peace in its very infancy and get it buried its immature life. This cycle of new technique sends different signals with crystal clear support for some sectors and thus paves way to spillover effects in long run. The cycle needs to be brought to its logical end in short span of Time with coordinated and participatory planning. However it would be sham on face of kashmiris if such miscreants remain hidden. The issues are being discussed on social networking sites thanks to Mark Zuckerberg but the issue demands much more analysis at deeper level. The Govt of the day should awake from deep slumber to get caught the involved people to stop the rising fear in infancy. Also the need is to uncover such culprits to public , so that it becomes clear because the linkage of incidents seems hide and seek game with some back support. The opportunity knocks once , the chance is to bring miscreants on fore to keep trust of already alienated people and to add to their security. Let’s hope for “we are secure in Kashmir”
Season of harvest came with surprise this time as far as the hair chopping cases are concerned. The need is to immediately react to break the momentum of rising incidences to stop the uprising which is awaiting as history remains witness to fact it needs “simple flame for widespread fire”. For Kashmir the hair chopping sends rising alarm along some corners while others await such incidences for self interest. Hence it would be nice on part of government to act swiftly for quick reaction otherwise it might sever the truce period and provide ample sunshine and water for uprising to flourish. Certainly nobody in Kashmir aspires for such bleak periods. The common people of valley needs an atmosphere of peace and security to evolve as successful life story of human beings rather than civil war torn people of Yemen and Syria. Here lies the space for civil society, they should come forward and actively engage people to end the cycle of hair chopping at its earliest. The responsibility also lies with local community to shed the atmosphere of rumours and doubts by cornering such elements and get them caught to know the truth behind such tactic.
To conclude is to remind the saying ” BEFORE YOU ACT SEE WHERE DID YOU STAND “. We stand on sensitive phase of history where emotional attachment means more than rational decision making. Inspite of the fact that we oft repeatedly witness more severe periods than other regions of world. Certainly the juggernaut is on its way.The sooner we overcome the issue the better is it for government of the day in particular and people in general. Kashmir valley isn’t ready for continuous fear and psychosis now. Let’s goodbye this cycle of fear. The inspiring youth of valley with their full vigour and flight dreams should corner such miscreants to bring them on fore for reality. The hair chopping incidence should stop immediately with active involvement of local communities to restrict the space of such violence mongering individuals who remain hell bent to torn the pieces of peace. We aspire livable atmosphere for all sections of life. Let’s hope to get some bolt from blue in coming days. I reject this new and innovative technique in toto.
