State Election Commission announces 8-phased first ever DDC polls in J&K from Nov 28

- 22 Dec counting date.
- First time District Development Council elections to be held
- 5 year term for DDC.
- By elections for vacant seats for Sarpanch and Panch also going to be held.
Election for DDC, unfilled panchayat seats, and vacant posts of municipalities will be held in 8 phases and results will be declared on Nov 22 with whole process to be completed on Dec 24. Code of conduct comes into force from today: CEO, Hirdesh kumar .
