Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Budgam have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
On a credible input, Officers from PS Chrar-i-Sharief along with Executive Magistrate 1st Class raided a residential house of a notorious drug peddler identified as Mehraj-ud-din Shah resident of Nowhar Chrar-i-Sharief. During search, officers were able to recover 900gms of Charas from the residential house. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Pertinently, he was found involved in smuggling drugs and distributing it among gullible masses in return of hefty profit.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 08/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chrar-i-Sharief and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
