Budgam villagers demand compensation for soil taken from them for Ring Road

Budgam, Nov 13 : Scores of residents in Ichkoot village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district Sunday staged a protest, demanding promised compensation for soil taken by officials for ring road.
The residents staged a protest against authorities and were demanding compensation against soil taken for filling of the said road.
The protesters said they are not going against developmental projects but authorities need to compensate in genuine way.
The villagers said that despite several representations and passage of several years, the compensation for the soil which was taken from them for Ring road, remained pending.
The local appealed Lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and resolve the issue at the earliest.
