A delegation comprising of various senior citizens and social activists hailing from Chatterhama Srinagar on Thursday called on Apni Party Provincial President Kashmir Muhammad Ashraf Mir in presence of DDC member Shabir Ahmad Reshi.

The delegates apprised the Provincial President about numerous problems faced by the locals living in Chatterhama area. They conveyed that the same area was earlier categorized as Rural however due to unknown reasons recently it has been categorized under Municipal Jurisdiction.

They requested that the previous category for the same area be restored on priority basis. Besides, they complained over the immense shortage of water supply in the area and urged the Provincial President to resolve their grievance in this regard.

Assuring his party’s full support to the delegates Mir said that he will leave no stone unturned until their genuine demands are fulfilled by the concerned authorities.

“I urge the administration to address the grievances of the people of Chatterhama on an immediate basis. Their rural categorization must be reinstated. Moreover, they hail from Harwan which is the source of water supply to the city but regrettably they have to face an immense water shortage. The department of Jal Shakti must ensure that an uninterrupted water supply is delivered to the natives of this locality,” Mir demanded.
