Chairperson of the HELP Foundation, Mrs. Nighat Shafi Pandit, along with Hakeem Javeed, General Secretary of Kashmir Kala Manch, today addressed a press conference at Bait-ul-Meeras, Aali Kadal, Srinagar, announcing the forthcoming Children’s Theatre Festival “Jashn-e-Tiflan.”
The five-day festival, scheduled from November 17 to 21, 2025, will be held at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, and is being organized by Kashmir Kala Manch in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and the Re-Root Foundation of India.
Highlighting the initiative’s distinctive focus, the organizers revealed that four schools from Sheher-e-Khaas (Old Srinagar) will participate in the festival. These institutions have been working with the organizing team for the past year through theatre-based activities aimed at nurturing creativity, mental growth, and personality development among children.
Speaking on the occasion, the organizers stressed the importance of reviving the tradition of children’s theatre, noting that such platforms are rare in today’s times. “Jashn-e-Tiflan” aspires to rekindle the culture of theatre among young minds and offer them a meaningful space for artistic expression.
The festival has received strong backing from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting children’s art, culture, and intellectual development.
Special appreciation was extended to Mrs. Nighat Shafi Pandit, whose consistent support and encouragement have played a pivotal role in making the festival possible, said Hakeem Javeed
