Police sources told news agency that police officials including SSP Srinagar, SP Hazratbal besides other officers held a meeting regarding the law and order problems and various crime issues in Police division Ahmad-Nagar.

They said that after concluding the meeting the police officials visited the shrine of Janab Sahab in Anchar locality to conduct guard checking and lockdown implementation there. But miscreants who had already gathered near the shrine pelted stones on the police party.

The police retaliated by firing some tear smoke shells to disperse the miscreants.

Latest reports reaching news agency suggest that the situation is normal and under control in the area. Police has taken cognizance of the incident. (KDC)
