Srinagar, Aug 2 : Some Industrial Units and residential houses were inundated while crops were damaged after a cloudburst sparked flash floods in Khonmou area in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
Reports said that a cloud burst struck in the industrial estate sparking flash floods in adjoining areas. At least four Industrial Units were damaged while some residential houses were inundated.
Witnesses said that the locals of Wani Mohalla, Tulabagh, Sheikh Mohalla and Bongam were evacuated to safer places. The flash floods also inundated roads disrupting the vehicular movement. “The water has entered in our houses. Water washed away our belongings,” said a local to CNS.
A team from police and civil administration rushed to spot to assess the situation.
Tehsildar Panthachowk said that flood water has entered into the houses and has even blocked the road. (CNS)
