Srinagar, Apr 28: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast a spell of generally cloudy weather with intermittent rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir over the next several days, accompanied by gusty winds and the possibility of hailstorms at isolated places.

According to the latest forecast, weather conditions on April 28 and 29 will remain largely cloudy, with one or two spells of light rain or thundershowers expected at many places, particularly during afternoon and evening hours. Gusty winds and hailstorms are also likely at a few locations during this period. 

On April 30, the weather is expected to turn partly cloudy, with brief spells of light rain or thunder activity at isolated places towards late afternoon hours.

The MeT department has predicted generally dry conditions on May 1 and 2, although brief afternoon showers cannot be ruled out. A fresh spell of cloudy weather is likely between May 3 and 5, with intermittent light rain and thundershowers at scattered to many places, mainly during afternoon and evening hours. Thereafter, from May 6 to 9, the weather is expected to remain largely dry, with only isolated brief showers possible. 

Advisory:

In view of the expected wet spell and gusty winds, farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations on April 28 and 29 to avoid any potential damage to crops.
