Issuing an advisory, the MET Centre warned that heavy rainfall and intense showers between July 6 and July 8 could trigger localised flash floods, landslides and mudslides at vulnerable places in the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal Range, especially during the afternoon and early morning hours.

The department has advised residents and travellers to stay away from nallas, streams and areas prone to landslides and mudslides during the period of adverse weather.
